fix focus magazine ar
i subscribe to focus.
i love that magazine.
i was especially pulled into this month’s issue which has a lot on AR (augmented reality). if you don’t know what that is, Wikipedia is your friend
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augmented_reality
so, the cover is supposed to be an AR cool live cover, but as i soon realized, the focus mag website ar thingy doesn’t work for some http://www.bbcfocusmagazine.com/forum/ar-won-t-work-t893.html and myself.
im referring to http://www.bbcfocusmagazine.com/augmented-reality
however i managed to find where focus did wrong and got mine to work!
maybe this will work for you too:
if yours loads to ~80%:
then this might be the problem: somehow the option to choose the imaging device (webcam) is not showing on your screen.
so, what you must do to get it showing is to use firefox + web developer and disable all css styles (ctrl+shift+s).
if you aren’t using FireFox get it here http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/personal.html and make sure you get web developer add-on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/60/ especially if you’re a web developer
the result will look like the website was made in the early 90′s, but you get to choose your camera and load the remaining percentage
just a word of warning, be patient as the scrolling really slows down.
i suggest using page up/down to scroll and give it some time.
yay! now we can all enjoy the cover to it’s fullest!
if your pc only sees 1 imaging device, i assume it would work out of the box.
comment if you found a easier solution please
